Motorcycle Accidents Kill 3 Over Weekend

A 56-year-old man was reportedly killed Sunday when the Harley-Davidson he was driving struck a sport-utility vehicle head-on in Elgin Township, Kane County, marking the third fatal motorcycle accident over the weekend. Killed was Joseph Lehman, of the 200 block of South Drive in South Elgin, according to a release from the Kane County Sheriff’s Office. A 1999 Ford Expedition SUV traveling westbound on Hopps Road and was turning southbound onto Stevens Road when a 1967 Harley-Davidson traveling eastbound on Hopps struck the SUV head-on, causing Lehman to be thrown from the motorcycle, which then caught fire, the release said.
